A Counterintuitive Key to Success

What is one thing you want to do but haven't started because you don't feel ready yet? In today's post, we'll be talking about wanting to do more but struggling to move forward and feeling stuck in place.

"The Key to Success is to Start Before You're Ready. Action spawns courage, not the other way around." -Marie Forleo

Yes, you read that right. The key is to start before - not after - you feel ready.

If you're anything like me, you've had some experience with being stuck in planning mode. This is where you excessively prepare and hold yourself to impossibly high standards to reduce the risk of failure or rejection.

While it is important to do your due diligence, it's also essential that you don't fall into the trap of refusing to move forward until you feel perfectly prepared. I'm here to remind you that it's okay to figure some things out along the way. If you wait for every detail to be worked out before moving forward, you'll likely end up holding yourself back and missing out on opportunities.

So today, I challenge you to work with what you've got, remove the pressure of getting things perfect the first time, and take the next step- just as you are and before the confidence kicks in.

Yes, there will be bumps along the way. But experience is the best teacher (and navigating life's little surprises is half the fun.)

Three Questions to Get Started:

  1. What's the one thing you've been putting off because you haven't felt ready? (This could be anything from career moves to relationships or pursuing a passion of yours.)

  2. Think of one step that you can take within the next 24 hours.

  3. Schedule a time, write it down in your planner and honour your commitment.
